Rock Cakes
Ingredients: Equipment:
100g white SR flour
25g porridge oats
1.25ml level teaspoon baking powder
25g sugar
50g margarine
1 egg beaten
3 tblsp raisins (optional)


1 baking tray
2 large plates
1 cooling tray
2 dessertspoons
A fork
A round bladed knife
A teaspoon
A tablespoon
A sieve
A large bowl
1 cup
1 flour dredger


Method:
1) Switch on oven at 180 o C for a fan oven / 200 o C for a conventional oven.


2) Dust baking tray lightly with flour.


3) Sieve flour into bowl.
4) Add margarine and rub in until mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
5) Stir in sugar and baking powder.
6) Make a well in the centre of the mixture.
7) Pour in egg.
8) Wash your hands after handling the egg.
9) Mix to make a stiff dough.
10) Stir in raisins.
11) Place 6 heaped spoons onto tray.
12) Bake in oven until golden brown.
13) Wash up all your dishes and do your Unit Check Up

A Healthy Cooked Breakfast

Ingredients:
2 sausages
2 rashers bacon
2 eggs
1 dsp White Wine Vinegar
2 slices bread
Honey / marmalade
Low fat spread

WATCHOUT: Cross – contamination from raw to cooked food.
CLEAN AS YOU GO!

Equipment:
2 forks
2 round bladed knives
2 large plates
A pyrex glass plate
A potstand
A cup
A wooden spatula
A knife
A dessertspoon
A pair of food prep scissors
Food Tongs
A slotted spoon
Toaster
A small saucepan


Instructions:
1) Collect ingredients.
2) Set table
3) Preheat grill.
4) Preheat main oven at 100 o C
5) Snip fat on bacon using scissors.
6) Prick sausages using a fork.
7) Grill bacon and sausage on grill until cooked.
8) Place on a pyrex oven proof dish and keep warm in the oven.
Egg and sandwich
This is how you should set your table

9) ½ fill saucepan with cold water and bring to the boil and simmer.
10) Add 1 dsp White Wine Vinegar.
11) Swirl water using wooden spatula.
12) Break ONE egg into a cup and drop into the swirling water.
13) Repeat for the second egg.
14) Simmer eggs for approx 5mt and remove from the pan using a slotted spoon.
15) Toast bread until golden brown on both sides.
16) Spread with low fat spread and marmalade, jam or honey on toast.
17) Serve up and eat.
18) Wash up.
19) Carry out UNIT CHECKUP!
