Back Primary Football Development Club

Congratulations and well done to the boys and girls of our under 12, 7 a-side football team. On Saturday, 16th September we entered the team to play in the Manor Dairies 7 a-side competition.

With perfect playing conditions Back came up against Lochs A in the first game and although they has a lot of scoring opportunities the game ended 0 – 0.

In the next game they were up against the tournament favourites Aths A. this proved to be the turning point for out team as they went on to win the game 1 – 0 which gave them a boost for their remaining 2 games in their section.

A win against Point and then United saw them reaching the final which was against a Ness side which hadn’t lost a goal in the run up to the final. So the stage was set, who would be the new winners of the Manor Dairies? Right from the first whistle the Back team were fighting for every ball and had a couple of great chances to score. But with only seconds remaining from the game going into extra time up popped Louise Martin to score and give Back the trophy which they rightly deserved. Great effort and well done to you all. I must mention that this was the first team ever to win the competition with two girls. Louise Martin from Tong and Louise Stewart from Vatisker. Well done girls. The other heroes in the team were Luke Allan, Domhnall Barden, James Macarthur, Liam Campbell, Shaun Martin, James Macdonald and Murdo Macleod. Well done to you all.
