The Sgoil a’ Bhac S1/2 Scripture Union [SU] group meets once a week for discussions, Bible study, games, quizzes and talks. S2 is using SU’s WordUp series to study various issues, while S1 is looking at popular TV programmes from a Christian perspective. In the past we have had a lively Primary group and hope that this year will be equally successful.
We enjoy visits from others involved with SU or with other groups. Colin Carmichael, SU regional worker, visited the school this year, giving interesting and challenging presentations to S1/2 and P5-7, followed by lunch with the SU group (the money collected will be used to help street children in Peru). S1/2 also had an interactive talk from a representative of MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship).
Some of our activities are geared to helping people who are less well-off than ourselves. This year we are supporting Scottish International Relief’s Back Pack Project - helping children in Malawi get basic materials to help them with their education.
Sgoil a’ Bhac Scripture Union is affiliated to Scripture Union Scotland which “aims to help young people find dynamic faith in Jesus Christ”.
